I finally wrote up a series of stories my mother wrote to celebrate her sister Dawn’s 50th birthday. Dawn hasn’t yet seen the book, as mum is now in re-draft mode. I tidied it up, moved things around and added some family photos for her to give her more prompts. It may never move further than that.

In the book she mentions five different dresses that she had growing up. Usually made by her mother or grandmother. I used this as inspiration for my dresses series which you’ll find below. I started with five dresses, but then got enchanted by the paper dresses, and then interested in what dresses mean to me and others, so here’s a whole series.
