She describes five dresses.
My original idea for this book was a concertina, where the dresses hung in frame, possibly with some lace, or gingham or other fabrics.
But it was not to be. The card I had chosen (i think some old mat board) was just too thick, and it wouldn’t bend nicely.
having created all 3 panels i didn’t want to lose it all (though maybe I should have). So I made this weird concertina from just the middle boards of the concertina.
The frames are decorated with old wrapping papers from my collection. In the spirit of maquettes I offer it here as a way to remember and learn what works (and what doesn’t). Here’s the final.
