Wallpaper Houses

Cindy Tonkin - January 9, 2018

These wallpaper houses are in the form of a pants book, which is kind of zine-like in its folding.

I hand cut out the windows so you can see the colour of the wallpaper (wall-side).

They are mostly made from prints which were themselves the “offcuts” where i used a matrix slightly larger than the pages I was printing (for this book).

I may add some more to the town, using the rest of the wallpaper bits.

Each wallpaper piece is between 30 and 45 cm across, and around 20cm high when folded.

I christened this piece Perle (because that’s the name of the wallpaper it’s printed on) and it travels with the Place exhibition in 2019/20.
