Monotypes 2002

Cindy Tonkin - August 3, 2002

When I did patchwork and stories I was fresh out of my first art summer school, doing mixed media with Adrienne Crouch.

She taught monotypes – literally paint with gel medium rolled randomly onto a piece of glass. I loved the idea so much i spent 2 hours or so just making monotypes.

The best ones were the ones Meaghan Hill bought at the exhibition.

These are two which didn’t move (and it’s probably not surprising).

just renovating my hard drive in 2023. it’s kinda nice to be reviving some ideas.
