Encouraging Words: a concertina in a box

Cindy Tonkin - January 29, 2013

It’s a concertina book in a tiny box.
Parts of the back of the concertina are from an abandoned copy of As You Like It I found on a fence in Newtown.
The front is encouraging words gleaned from magazines, and tiny photographs I took myself around the world.
The box is covered in some poetry from Henry Kendall’s Leaves from Australian Forests, which my dad gave me as a birthday present when I was 8.
I like it because it’s a small delightful object.
The box measures 5 x 5 x 6.5 cm, the concertina pages are 4 x 4 cm.
It has 78 pages.
