Bowral in winter: chairs

Winter 2019 was a time to head to Bowral. I didn’t do the sturt winter school again this year, but instead hung out in a lovely house with heaps of light and painted.

It’s been some years since I really painted, and it was weird to come back to it.

I hit on just using my chairs photos from Instagram to create something.

Last week I had started a big yellow chairs frieze in a yellow concertina, and it fed into my work.

I took one particular aerial view of a tea shop in Singapore I took years ago to base some works on, and in the end, abandoned most of them (using the layout to create a few abstracts.)

Here’s a kind of selected chronological journey.

Not complete, but it has begun a chairs series, so I think I’m moving forward.
