Forest Frieze

Cindy Tonkin - February 6, 2021

This piece was one of the earliest collage of a 3d object I ever did, it’s from 2003.

I fashioned a large concertina from packing cardboard. and collaged both sides of it in blues with trees.

It taught me how leaves fall from trees (from one side initially), and to notice things.

The images are a little fuzzy, it was the days when digital cameras held maybe 10 photographs in their drive, and I had borrowed Pat’s camera to do these.

The frieze stood about knee high. Each “leaf” is scattered by hand onto glue (yeah, not hand placed!)
