I have a little box of theatre, transport, museum and even parking lot tickets.
I plan to move house in January, so I assigned myself the task of just USING UP the tickets, especially those which are more than 5 years old. I know, I know, there’s a beauty in the vintage 30 year old ticket, but do I have the space to store them until they get that old (in my new place, yes, I will have). And more to the point do I want those reminders around of that time in my life?
Anyway, I’m using them up. And here are the collages resulting.
Mostly they are tickets, tissue paper, other ephemera. The backing is mostly some of the calendars I’ve been using to create books. Ones whose designs were lovely, but not inspiring. It’s nice because it adds a level of serendipity to the process (I wouldn’t normally, for example use a pink and orange ground, or a green one).
It’s possible that these will get a second version, and for now here they are.
