Monologues

Cindy Tonkin - July 16, 2008

This morning was all about monologues.

We began with Rants. 8 people on stage, each given something they love or hate. They “warm up” by all speaking together, then each person launches into their rant (preferably with some connection to what came before).

Then monologues from a topic, but speaking from your real self (not a character); followed by character based monologues, again with some kind of themic connection between monologues.

I’ve just bought Charna Halpern’s book, Truth in Comedy, and another she co-wrote with Del Closer – Art by Committee. So I’m all informed (or will be soon).
