Existing book 22 x 22cm.
Concertina spine.
cricut cut pages sewn into the concertina
inspired by Simple Essentials and Rooftop cut outs.
using images from the book Tinspirations (from which the spine / name comes).
What I learnt:
- yep, it’s hard to replicate a book
- colour and texture matter a lot
- i can’t do this with the cricut and expect variation (all the time in this book really went into adjusting the Cricut cut outs – I tried to save / make time by creating 3 different cricut cut outs, of which i used both sides, but in the end i had to juggle colour, see-through-ness and wieldiness. You can probably see that I literally cut bits off and re-used them elsewhere. But I love the colours and the variety
- i started a smaller sized one, using the same cricut template just shrunk, with each page similar hues, and maybe i’ll do that when I’m out of ideas? half way through I realised i was doing a kind of Divorce 3, which was in turn based on Russian Dresses. which was inspired by… ad infinitum.
