Been unwell for about 2 weeks. The sign that i was getting better probably began when I could get of thinking about making art to actually making art.
Having spent a pleasant afternoon investigating dolls house wallpapers on youtube and pinterest (who knew?), I finally went back to the old masters book someone had given me a week ago, and found this Henri Rousseau jungle-themed piece. It’s a large format book (more later when I alter it!), and one page lined most of the inside of the very large mailbox.
It’s 30cm high, and 25cm diameter. I had been storing a few little ornaments (some lions, some easter island statues) inside for a few years. Now I’ve given them a jungle. I added a platform so the lions could have visibility of their domain (maybe another one is in order?). I added a frog, found in the street a few years ago. The colour works so well.. And there’s a tiny dolls hand with bracelet on it. That tiny hand was posted in there by someone else. My brother Mitchell was staying at the time and he suggested I keep it, which is how the lions and etc got in.
Here are the photographs. I’m thinking it may be too crowded. Mail will be fine, but it’s not as pretty as if maybe I take out the Easter Island people, or something, but I’m still not exactly well, so that’s for another day.
