In a moment of cultural hilarity I thought that “The Sea was angry that day, my friend”, was a Hemingway quote or similar. So close! It was a line from George Costanza in the episode where he pretends to be a Marine Biologist, and rescues a whale by removing a golf ball from its blow-hole.
In any case I’d written the song by the time I worked out that it wasn’t famous. So this answers the questions of why are the Seas angry. It mentions most of the seas. Apologies to any sea left out, it is an oversight (perhaps I’ll write a song for you if you tell me who you are!).
