This is a Sarah Cobb-Clark rewrite of a Melbourne version. Both versions are sung to the tune of Bully in the Alley.
The base verse is:
Help me Bob, there’s buses on the train line,
Way, hey, buses on the train line.
Help me Bob, there’s buses on the train line,
Buses are replacing trains
Then each verse is slightly different with a response line echoing the first call, then the same response line.
Help me Bob, there’s buses on the Metro
Wey, hey, buses on the metro
Grumpy patrons arguing to and fro
Buses are replacing trains
Here are some of the iterations.
North Shore – Highway scenery is really such a bore
Inner West -Transport workers wand’ring round in fluro vests
Bankstown -Traffic backed up from Hyde Park to Newtown
Illawarra – Getting home late really is a chore-ah
Cumberland – This commute is not working as I planned
Carlingford – Eighty people all trying to cram on board
Olympic Park – Couldn’t they just do upgrades after dark?
Airport – The logistic are falling rather short
