Make graceful and lasting change

That waiting feeling

Cindy Tonkin - July 15, 2008

It took me one hour to walk here from the hostel. It’s a glorious summer morning. The neighbourhood has lots of trees. It’s flat, good for walking with gorgeous old deco apartment houses (no red brick and concrete, these places have their own gargoyles).

It’s sort of like walking down Sesame St, (except Sesame St is New York, I know).

In getting lost, I walked past a lot of theatres. One has the guy from CSI William Pietersen playing on stage.

Apparently there are 60 people doing this course, and we’ll be in 4 groups.

So far, and there’s still 15 m to go, there are only North American accents (well it will be a change to improvise where my accent sounds like an accent.. And the american accents of my scene partners are consistent!!*).

I have attached a photo of the stage. It’s the Del Close theatre, about 100 seats, the stage is about as big as the Newtown Theatre. The bar is just off to the right of the stage.

Wish me luck!!

* except of course for Cale, John and Adam, who have always had such remarkably consistent North American accents…
