In 2008 my then-husband James and I spent a spectacular month on holiday in the US. We spent most of our time in New York (10 days were scheduled, but we extended, so much to see!).
Before going I altered a book about Captain James Cook’s travels. I was young in my altering of books, so i mostly just removed a few pages and painted out some of the images / text, so there were strong vestiges of the original book (Cook did a lot in the South Pacific).
It was a scrapbook and a travelogue, with observations and random thoughts, some profound, some mundane. I even included a credit card statement, which itemised where we went.
I photographed it in 2013 when James and I parted ways, but it didn’t make it to my blog, so here it is!!

Rhode Island (to see the mansions / summer houses)
Boston (for a weekend with Francie)
LA (Universal Studios, Getty Museum, Downtown)
