Streets are for talking

Cindy Tonkin - November 5, 2016

In the times when the terraces that populate our inner city streets were built people walked to work, sat together and talked in person, wrote letters to each other. Things were slower. These tiny streets made of postage stamps and maps echo those times. These concertinas are no bigger than 3cm on each fold, so that they can make it into the Sydney’s Smallest Gallery Submission.

They stand at maximum at 2.4cm

They are laser cut terraces from Australian postage stamps. The shadows they cast are my favourite part!
