Make graceful and lasting change

3×3 Tiny works

Cindy Tonkin - November 4, 2016

Working on 2d works for Sydney’s Smallest Gallery.

Here are some I whipped up today.

Some of the joy of making works for the smallest gallery is that I comb through all of my offcuts from works I thoroughly enjoyed, and all the joy comes back. Plus I really love classifying and categorising things, and this gives me that opportunity. The smallest pieces of paper and wood and plastic suddenly bring forth their “exquisite” nature.

These are laser cutter offcuts from Summer 2016 and Winter 2015 at Sturt Craft Centre. I cut up a large acrylic work on paper, and these tiny circles and squares were part of that. See here for the tiny houses.
